At The Ocean Rowing Company, we’re not just building boats — we’re shaping bold journeys across open water.

Our story began with Mark Slats, a Dutch adventurer who, in 2017, shattered the solo Atlantic rowing world record by completing the crossing in just 30 days, 7 hours, and 49 minutes. Driven by a passion for ocean exploration and a desire to push human limits, Mark founded The Ocean Rowing Company to design and build world-class ocean and coastal rowing boats.

Our team is a unique blend of ocean adventurers, master craftsmen, thinkers, doers, and one very loyal dog. Each member brings a wave of passion, skill, and determination to push the limits of human-powered exploration.
