At The Ocean Rowing Company, every model in our fleet starts with a purpose. The D12 gave solo rowers the independence to take on oceans. The D34 gave four-person teams the platform to chase world records. But between those extremes, a new demand emerged — and that need gave birth to our newest creation: the D23.

Listening to the Community

We didn’t set out to design “just another boat.” We listened — to racers, adventurers, and rowing clubs. The feedback was clear:

• Solo boats often felt too cramped for long expeditions with months of provisions.

• Four-person boats were too large, too heavy, or too costly for many smaller teams.

• A rising number of crews were forming as duos or trios, searching for the right balance of space, weight, and performance.
